Our focus is on responsible progress: protecting our environment, supporting working families and small businesses, maintaining fiscal responsibility, and preserving the character and beauty that make East Hampton unique.

Together, we’re working for a New Town: one guided by fairness, respect, and a shared commitment to the place we all call home.
To bring balance and common sense back to local government — championing responsible progress, fiscal integrity, and policies that serve everyone in East Hampton, not just the extremes.

East Hampton Town Democrats for a New Town represents a new generation of local Democrats — pragmatic, independent-minded, and deeply rooted in our community’s shared values.
We believe leadership in East Hampton should rise above partisan extremes. Our vision is to bring balance, accountability, and common sense back to local government — ensuring that decisions are made for the benefit of everyone who calls this town home.
We stand for responsible progress: protecting our coastline and environment, supporting working families and small businesses, keeping taxes fair, and preserving the character that makes East Hampton unique. We believe in listening first, leading with integrity, and building unity through respect and collaboration.
This is what we mean by a New Town — one where government works transparently, neighbors work together, and politics serves the people, not the other way around.
Structure & Organization
• The town is divided into election districts (19 in total), and there are two Committee persons per district.
• We meet (monthly) to review local issues, propose policies, vet candidates, and coordinate campaign work.
• During election cycles, our group plays a key role in collecting signatures, endorsing candidates, mobilizing volunteers, and turning out voters.
• The local Democratic apparatus works both as a governing force (since Democrats currently hold many town offices) and as a check / accountability body.
**The Honorable Gerard "Jerry" Larsen** A lifelong resident of East Hampton, Mayor Jerry Larsen has dedicated his entire career to serving the East Hampton community. Motivated by his childhood dream of becoming a police officer, he served in the East Hampton Village Police Department for 34 years, including 14 years as Chief of Police, during which he became the youngest Chief of Police in New York State at that time. For the past five years, Mayor Larsen has served as the mayor and is currently the Third Vice President of the Suffolk County Village Officials Association. He also co-chairs the East End Supervisors and Mayors Association and is the Founder and President of the East End Mayors Association. Additionally, he is a former president of the Suffolk County Police Association, which represents 2,500 local officers. Beyond his policing experience, Larsen was appointed the Department Head of Emergency Services for East Hampton Village and has been a member of the Kiwanis Club, an organization that promotes local service opportunities and family events. He has also served as a board director for the East Hampton Chamber of Commerce and LTV Studios and was the former president and coach of East Hampton Little League. Jerry and his wife, Lisa, have six children who grew up in East Hampton. Together, they own a local security business that provides home and commercial security systems, which they established in 2005. His extensive experience as a public servant and business owner provides him with a nuanced perspective on the issues affecting our community. His firsthand insight into supporting local businesses, combined with the skills he acquired as Village Police Chief, uniquely positions him to address the challenges our town has faced for far too long.

I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for Town Supervisor. Our town stands at a pivotal moment, and I am confident that I can bring the positive change we need.

I am thrilled to announce my candidacy for Town Supervisor. Our town stands at a pivotal moment, and I am confident that I can bring the positive change we need.
For the past five years, I have had the honor of serving as the Mayor of East Hampton Village. During my tenure, I successfully kept taxes at historic lows while simultaneously enhancing services and improving the overall quality of life for our residents. Through engaging in community events like our summer music series at Main Beach, the inaugural Hamptons Pride Parade, and family fun block parties, I have fostered a spirit of unity and togetherness that strengthens our community. A united community is, without a doubt, a resilient community.
Recently, I was approached by the New York State Democratic Committee to run for State Senate and represent Suffolk County. While that was a great honor, I feel that my hometown is in crisis, and I know I can make a difference.
As East Hampton Town Supervisor, I will prioritize the same vital issues that I tackled in the village, as well as focusing on workforce housing, the gun club, the airport, truck beach, and revitalizing our town government. My commitment lies in treating every employee with dignity and creating a thriving work environment that ensures fair compensation and retention.
I will also streamline our governance by eliminating the positions of Town Manager and Public Information Officer, taking on those responsibilities directly to increase accountability and transparency.
But I cannot do this alone. As a registered Democrat, I am preparing for a competitive race against an incumbent Democrat, and your support is crucial. The election is set for June 23, 2026. By voting, you can play a key role in shaping the future of our town. Remember, only registered Democrats will have a voice in this election!
Join this movement for change!
If you have any questions, do not hesitate to email me at Mayorjerrylarsen@gmail.com.
Thank you for your support and commitment to our town's future!
Sincerely, Jerry Larsen
